The Boundless Love of God
Whether we care to admit it or not, there is a part of us that recognizes and acknowledges that there is a God. A God who created this earth with all its wonder and glory. There is something inside of us, a desire, that wants to worship and give adoration to something or someone. For some, it is adoration to a political leader, for some it may be their earthly possessions, for others it might be their son or daughter who has created a successful life. But there’s something in us that wants us to focus our love and adoration.
God created us to worship him, to commune with him and to give him glory, but sin intervened and broke that connection to God. In the Old Testament God provided a pathway for his people to rebuild that connection [justification] through the Holy Laws and instructions laid out in the books of Exodus and Leviticus. But this only brought condemnation to the Israelites because as the scriptures say if even one of these laws is broken, then all the laws are broken [James 2:10]
In the New Testament a new way was revealed to us in the form of Jesus Christ to rebuild that connection to God [justification]. It did not require works from our side to please or appease God, but only a simple belief in his son Jesus Christ, acknowledging him as the Son of God. This new way as the scriptures say is an easy yoke and a light burden [Matthew 11:30] and is a connection powered by faith in a God who never fails, faith in a God whose love has no equal.
This love of God is what should spur us to come into a relationship with him. This “new way” through Jesus Christ is available to everyone who believes and does not depend on what we think we should do to please or appease God. But we access this new way by grace, a free gift of God, coming out of his great love for us.
In today’s modern world, whether we want to accept it or not, we need God’s help and guidance to navigate our daily lives. We need God’s peace and protection. We already have his love and nothing in this world can ever take that away from us [Romans 8: 38 – 39].
God, through his Son Jesus Christ IS THE ONLY WAY to re-establish that first connection he established in the Garden of Eden. Today, if you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ through this “new way’, ACCEPT HIM NOW and draw closer to God.
